Frequently asked questions
How much does a custom pool cost?A custom pool project can vary in pricing and depends on a multitude of elements. Some of these elements include but are not limited to the size of the pool, pool deck, land modifications required, quality of materials, water features, spas, craftsmanship and design. At S & D Pools we know that there are many different factors that go into building a custom pool and we make sure that we communicate that in the proposal process.
Is financing available?Yes! Financing is available, for more information visit here.
Can I build a pool at any time of the year?Yes, because we're in the southwest area of Houston, Texas we have decent weather year round to build a pool. However, our "busy time" is in the spring and summer seasons.
Will we be required to be home the entire time during construction? No, but there will be a few exceptions during the process where you will need to be home and this will be communicated beforehand so you can plan accordingly.
How much work is involved in owning and caring for a pool?We know that time is very important to our customers and that is why we do our best to keep maintenance at a minimum. The first month does require quite a bit of care and maintenance because the pool needs to be brushed twice a day. You will have to brush the sundeck, steps and benches which opens the pores of the plaster to allow proper curing and to remove any loose plaster dust. After the first month, you will spend a small amount of time every month on the maintenance of your pool to ensure that the chemicals are at the right levels. You will have minimum cleaning responsbilities because the robotic pool cleaner will do most of the work!
How long does it take to build a pool?It takes anywhere from 45-90 days to build a custom pool (weather permitting) however, there are other factors that may make the process longer. Once you decide to build a pool there are a few other things that have to happen before construction can start including, financing, home owner association approvals, marking and finding utilities and any permits that may be needed.
